Match Report – League Fixture

Brent 3rd Vs Old Tiffinian’s Reserves

A last-minute change of venue took the Tiffs all the way to West London for the first away fixture of the season. Very tough place to go is Brent away, excellent footballing club who always offer a challenge.

14:00hrs again, sun unexpectedly out, a lot hotter than expected. El Capitano took his top off, glowed so bright thought it was a twilight scene.

Incredibly fast start from Tiffs. Quick play, sharp passes, first chance of the game Sean G is through. Slots it home beautifully for 1-0. Pressure continues, chances coming thick and fast. Some excellent defending and goalkeeping from Brent.

Brent has a small spell; Tiffs remain compact and disciplined. Brent has a shot from 25 yards which manages to look Farhan in goal. The goal being at a 45-degree angle didn’t help. 1-1.

Despite this, Tiffs did not let it get to them and continued to play their game. Calm controlled defending at the back from Amr. Takes a touch out and launches a long pass down the line up to Ash. Ash runs on to it as it is bouncing on the corner of the 18-yard box. 3 bounces and then bam. On the half volley. Van Persie esq. Flies into the bottom corner away from the goalkeeper. Quote from Ben C on the bench “I think that is the best goal I have ever seen at this level.” 2-1.

We go into half time. Some changes made to keep the discipline and try to combat the heat. Tiffs again playing some lovely passing moves, creating several chances. Ball out wide, played back across the box. Ben D can’t get his shot away and plays it to Kieran. He goes past one. Two. Three. Four. Is he going to fall over. No, he still has it, he’s through and slots it home. Incredible goal. He is off the mark for season on his league debut.

The game falls a little bit scrappy with long balls back and forth. Jon heading everything in the air, doesn’t miss them. Then comes the key moment of calm. Strong defensive header from Amr. Will F brings it down in the middle. Head up. Spots Adam. Cuts the midfield with a key pass. Adam slots it through to Sean G who runs through and dinks it over the keeper. Top quality play. That’s game. 4-1. Did someone say top of the league?

A truly sensational competitive debut, highlighting his incredible ability and goal scoring threat. Player of the match. Kieran.
