Tiffs Reserves were back in action following some tough results in recent weeks, with a win feeling very much on the cards against Old Meadonians.

Late fines throughout as Tiffs struggled to find the changing rooms and the nearest lime bike drop off point.

Despite this, Tiffs stretched the play early, carving a number of opportunities and were rewarded as Tommo rounded the keeper before a shot/cross (we shall never know) sailed in to the back of the net. 1-0 Tiffs. Some more good interplay made it 2-0 shortly after with Dan F converting from a low cross.

Old Meads grew in to the game and scored 2 quickfire goals to level. Connor, frustrated by the lack of offside call, didn’t hear the refs warning and almost got a booking for his troubles (shades of Van Persie at the Camp Nou). Spurred on by the switch off, Tiffs hit back with Justin dispatching at the back post following a good spell of pressure.

A few chances went missing early in the second half as Tiffs looked for the cushion to their narrow 1 goal advantage. And, with our defence holding solid, they got it. Justin broke the offside trap and, with Meads appealing in vein, he finished past the keeper. 4-2 tiffs. To put the icing on the cake, Tommo added his second of the game a few minutes before time. A dominant 5-2 win away from home with the bare 11, a strong performance to take in to next weeks’ trip to Old Sedcopians.
