OTFC IIIs 0 – 5 Old Wokingians

In keeping with tradition, I’ll keep the Wokingians match report mercifully brief.  With the 16 man squad from last week just a fading memory, a similar but smaller group of 13 brave Tiffinians took to the field hoping to build on the 3 points from last week.

Alas, it wasn’t to be.  Tiffs actually played pretty well, making numerous chances in the first half, and probably should have gone in at the break with a 3 goal lead.  Sadly, it just wasn’t our day in front of goal and instead it was 1-0 to Old Wokingians.

The 2nd half saw Wokingians dominate possession, but Tiffs remained dangerous and continued to miss a string of open goals, good chances, half chances and pot shots.  As the game drew to a close, Old Wokingians were gifted a couple of late goals (to go with the gifted penalty earlier in the half) and the scoreline flattered them at 5-0.

Next week is our last home game of the season, with just 2 further away games to follow that (dare we mention the trip to Reigate?).  Will any OTFC IIIs be left standing at the end of the season or will injuries, holidays, club selection criteria or ennui end it for them?
