Old Wokingians II 0 - 2 OTFC Is

Old Wokingians IIs 0-2 Old Tiffinians Is

The Old Tiffs winning juggernaut went trundling on with an invaluable 3 points away at Old Wokingians. Playing with confidence and with a dynamic Sam Lewis-Greg Nutt duo controlling the tempo of the match, the Ts burst out of the blocks and took a deserved lead midway through the opening 45. James Matthews was closest to converting his sibling’s corner; but it was eventually turned in to the net by a wayward Woking boot.

The Purps doubled their advantage shortly afterwards – when Bruno Robertson raced through to convert neatly on the edge of the box from a Sam Lewis through-ball.

After some wizened words from Seb (Ron Weasley) Rose – the Tiffs sured-up the defence, battened down the hatches and awaited a Wokingian storm that mercifully never arrived. Tom Wightwick and Keiran Olivares-Whitaker marshalled a back four expertly – while the tireless trio of  Robertson, Lewis and Tommy Ridgeway kept things ticking over further forward. Aside from a glaring miss from Ridgeway and Nutty rattling the bar with a venomous drive, it was a half of few chances. Rhys Parker, Jon Youl and Andy Dickenson provided fresh legs on the right side of the pitch to help snuff out any potential attacks by the opposition. Pete ‘the Heat’ Osborne was clattered late on, and debutant Luke Fisher got away with an utterly reckless late lunge as the clock wound down to herald back-to-back Old Tiffs wins for the first time since 2009… Probably.

Up the Purps.
